A PROPAGANDA POLÍTICA DO GOLPE DE 1964
ATRAVÉS DOS DOCUMENTÁRIOS DO IPÊS

RESUMO: Neste artigo, abordamos o documentário “O que é o IPÊS” como um instrumento de
propaganda política do Instituto de Pesquisa e Estudos Sociais – IPÊS, ao Golpe Militar de março de
1964. Representando principalmente os interesses dos setores industriais, o IPÊS utilizou desse e de
outros documentários como forma de interferir no processo político que culminou na queda de João
Goulart da presidência da república.

ABSTRACT: In this article, we approach the documentary “O que é o IPÊS” as an instrument of politic
propaganda of the Instituto de Pesquisa e Estudos Sociais – IPÊS (Institute of Research and Studies) to
the Military Blow of March of 1964. Mainly representing the interests of the industrial sectors, the IPÊS
used of this and other sets of documents as form to intervene with the process politician who culminated
in the fall of João Goulart of the presidency of the republic.
