OS LEITORES E AS LEITURAS DA OBRA DE STEFAN
ZWEIG NO BRASIL

RESUMO: Os leitores e as leituras da obra de Stefan Zweig no Brasil é um estudo da recepção da obra
Brasil, país do futuro pelos leitores brasileiros, bem como da crítica e uma reflexão sobre a atualidade
desta obra. Para analisarmos o papel do leitor na construção de sentidos para o texto partimos da
compreensão que o próprio autor tinha do leitor e da leitura e de conceitos desenvolvidos pela estética da
recepção. Esta reflexão sobre o papel do leitor procura incluir o ensaio no conjunto de obras do autor,
sugerindo a presença do imaginário na imagem do Brasil nela constituída.

ABSTRACT: Readers and Readings of Stefan Zweig in Brazil is a study of reception on Brazil, land of
the Future for Brazilian readers and literary critics, as well as make a reflection about actuality of this
work. For the analyses of the reader’s role in the sense building of the work, we begin with the author’s
understanding about reader, reading and the Esthetic of Rception concepts. This reflection about the
reader’s role seeks to include this essay, as a literary text, in the complet work of the author, as soon as
this text suggests the presence of the imaginary concept in Brazil’s image created.
