RESUMO: O presente estudo propõe uma reflexão acerca das apropriações sociais e históricas do neopaganismo, especialmente a wicca, tendo como principais fontes os filmes O homem de palha (1973) e O Sacrifício (2006), confrontados com algumas obras literárias que originaram este fenômeno mágicoreligioso. Procuramos demonstrar que a wicca mudou de sentido para as sociedades na qual estava inserida, dos anos 1960 até hoje. Além disso, também buscamos refletir a relação do cinema como meio de propagação e interpretação da História, estabelecendo estereótipos e apropriações imaginárias sobre religião.

ABSTRACT: The present study proposes a reflection on the social and historical appropriations of the heathenism, specially wicca, having as main sources the films O homem de palha (1973) and O sacrifício (2006), confronted with some literary works that had originated this magician-religious phenomenon. We look for to demonstrate that wicca moved from sensible for the societies in which was inserted, of the years 1960 until today. Moreover, we also search to reflect the relation of the cinema as half of propagation and interpretation of the History, establishing stereotypes and imaginary appropriations on religion.
