OS EMBATES DOUTRINAIS DE BOSSUET A RESPEITO
DA LIBERDADE, AUTORIDADE E SUBMISSÃO

RESUMO: Na concepção de Bossuet, a liberdade de expressão, própria do protestantismo, levaà insubmissão dos súditos em relação à autoridade do príncipe. Sendo assim, ele critica o protestantismo ao mesmo tempo em que defende a religião católica. Em seu entendimento, a religião católica é a base do poder real; o elemento que torna os súditos submissos às leis da Igreja assim como às leis do Estado. A religião católica é o meio mais eficiente que os reis possuem para se fazer obedecer.

ABSTRACT: In the conception of Bossuet, the expression of freedom, own of the Protestantism, takes to the subject of non-submission in relation to/ regarding the authority of the prince. He understands and criticizes the Protestantism at the same time that defends the Catholic religion. In his understanding, the Catholic religion is the base on the Real power; the element that turns the submissive subject to the laws of the Church as well as to the laws of the State. The Catholic religion is the most efficient way that the kings possess for the population to obey.
