SOBRE A RELAÇÃO ENTRE REGIMES POLÍTICOS E DESENVOLVIMENTO CIENTÍFICO: APONTAMENTOS PARA UM ESTUDO SOBRE A HISTÓRIA DA C&T
DURANTE O REGIME MILITAR BRASILEIRO

RESUMO:Esse trabalho é um estudo preliminar – através de uma revisão da literatura, em especial daquela relativa a estudos sobre a ciência – acerca das relações entre regimes políticos, em particular regimes autoritários, e desenvolvimento científico e tecnológico. Como veremos, idéias correntes, enraizadas no senso comum, que consideram a democracia política requisito necessário àquele desenvolvimento, não encontram apoio adequado na historiografia sobre a ciência.

ABSTRACT: This paper is a preliminary/ an exploratory study – through a bibliographical revision of the literature, in special that one related to science studies – about the relationship between political regimes, in special authoritarian regimes, and scientific and technological development. As we will show further in this work, current ideas, rooted in the common sense which considers political democracy as a presumption for scientific development, does not find adequate support in the historiography of science.
