BEM COMUM. VIRTUDES FUNDAMENTAIS AO
PRÍNCIPE CRISTÃO PARA O FORTALECIMENTO DE SEU PODER

RESUMO: Estabelecer uma comparação entre Bossuet e Luís XIV buscando demonstrar que para ambos
o príncipe devia dar bons exemplos, como exercer a justiça, agir em prol do bem comum e, assim,
promover a paz no reino. Demonstrar que estas imagens estavam inseridas no mundo simbólico do século
XVII francês e que serviam para reforçar o poder do monarca absolutista.

ABSTRACT: To establish a comparison between Bossuet and Luís XIV looking for to demonstrate that
for both prince he/she should give good examples, how to exercise the justice, to act on behalf of the very
common and, like this, to promote the peace in the kingdom. To demonstrate that these images were
inserted in the symbolic world of the century French XVII and that you/they were to reinforce the
absolutist monarch's power.
