A BRASA DA JOVEM GUARDA AINDA ARDE?

RESUMO: Sintomática coexistência de rebeldia-e-conservadorismo nos anos 60, a Jovem Guarda articulou e expressou as ansiedades de uma juventude suburbana recém-apresentada às delícias novidadeiras do desenvolvimentismo. Suas canções melodiosas em ritmo antenado ao underground pop internacional espalharam-se, principalmente com Roberto e Erasmo Carlos, entre públicos mais amplos, desde o início marcando fortemente o lirismo brasileiro contemporâneo. O artigo (poética e provocativamente) interroga sobre o desgaste, a diluição ou a permanência das forças ativas destes cantos, no ar há mais de quatro décadas.

ABSTRACT: As a symptomatic coexistence of rebelliousness-and-conservatism in the Twentieth Century or in the 60’s, the Jovem Guarda articulated and expressed a suburban youth’s anxieties recentlypresented to the newest delicacies of the post-war world development. Its melodious songs in a rhythm linked to the international pop underground was fomented, mainly, with Roberto and Erasmo Carlos, among wider/ broader audiences, since their beginning strongly marking the contemporary Brazilian lyricism. This article (from a poetic and provocatively point of view) interrogates about the stress, waste, the dilution or the permanence of the active forces of these songs, sung for more than four decades.
