O TEATRO DO OPRIMIDO NA FORMAÇÃO DA CIDADANIA

RESUMO: Esse artigo mostra a história e a trajetória do Centro do Teatro do Oprimido do Rio de Janeiro, surgido no Rio de Janeiro no ano de 1986. Uma associação sócio-cultural, com direção de Augusto Boal, que implementa projetos artísticos que estimulam a participação ativa das camadas menos privilegiadas da sociedade, visando à democratização dos meios de produção cultural, ao fortalecimento da cidadania e à transformação da realidade, através do Teatro do Oprimido. Um teatro que busca ser um exemplo de intervenção social, visando à inclusão social e o desenvolvimento humano. A idéia é analisar os projetos e trabalhos pedagógicos do CTO-Rio e suas contribuições na arte, na comunidade e na construção da cidadania, além da importância da formação dos grupos populares dentro das comunidades.

ABSTRACT: This article shows history and trajectory of the Centro do Teatro do Oprimido – CTO (Center of the theatre of the oppressed) from Rio de Janeiro, since its foundation in 1986. The CTO is a socio-cultural association directed by Augusto Boal, which implements artistic projects that stimulate the active participation of poor communities, aiming the use of democracy of the cultural production methods, making the citizenship more powerful and changing the reality thru the Theatre of the Oppressed. A theater that it search to be an example of social intervention, focusing on the social inclusion and the human development. The idea is to analyze the projects and pedagogical works of CTORio and its contributions in the art, the community and the construction of the citizenship, beyond the importance of the formation of the popular groups inside of the communities.
