PERFIL DO HERÓI TRÁGICO NA PEÇA O SANTO INQUÉRITO DE DIAS GOMES

RESUMO: Este trabalho apresenta um estudo comparativo, sob o viés da intertextualidade, entre Antígona (442 a.C.), de Sófocles, e a peça O Santo Inquérito (1966), do dramaturgo contemporâneo Dias Gomes, a fim de verificar a presença e a transformação do gênero trágico no teatro contemporâneo. A peça, observada pelo perfil da personagem protagonista, pode ser lida a partir de uma tipologia do herói trágico, na medida em que apresenta uma forte tonalidade trágica na construção da heroína e no tratamento temático, travando um diálogo intertextual com a tragédia antiga. Observa-se, também, sobre quais limites a peça estudada interage com aspectos da natureza humana e da realidade social.

ABSTRACT: This paper presents a comparative study – on the perspective of the intertextuality – between Antigone (442 b.C.), by Sophocles, and O Santo Inquérito play (1966), from the contemporary dramatist Dias Gomes, with the purpose of verifying the presence and the transformation of the tragic genre in the contemporary theatre. The play – observed by the main character profile – m ay be read from a typology of the tragic hero, since it presents a strong tragic nuance in the construction of the heroine and in the thematic treatment, establishing an intertextual dialogue with the ancient tragedy. We can notice on what limits the studied play interacts with the human nature and the social reality aspects, as well.
