ESCRAVATURA

RESUMO: Neste artigo veremos como Joaquim Nabuco juntou literariamente suas forças a Epicteto na
luta contra a escravidão no Brasil, fazendo uma distinção entre a escravidão dos tempos antigos e a
moderna e demonstrando que a instituição da escravidão corrompe as demais instituições sociais e
ameaça a sociedade como um todo, tornando-a iníqua.

ABSTRACT: In this paper we will see how Joaquim Nabuco united his forces with Epictetus in his fight
against slavery in Brazil, making a division between the slavery of ancient times and the modern one and
proving that the Institution of slavery corrupts the other social institutions and threats the society as a
whole, making it iniquitous.
