‘CONTEXTUALISMO LINGÜÍSTICO’ NA PERSPECTIVA DE QUENTIN SKINNER

RESUMO: Este trabalho analisa as contribuições teóricas e metodológicas propostas pelo historiador Quentin Skinner para pensar a prática da história intelectual. A partir da leitura de alguns de seus principais textos, especialmente “Meaning and understanding in the history of ideas”, artigo publicado no final dos anos 1960, procuro compreender as questões centrais que fundamentam o seu programa de estudos, conhecido como “contextualismo lingüístico”.

ABSTRACT: This paper examines the theoretical and methodological contributions proposed by the historian Quentin Skinner to think the practice of intellectual history. From the reading of some of his texts, especially “Meaning and understanding in the history of ideas”, article published in the late 1960’s, I try to understand the central issues that underlie his programme of studies, known as “linguistic contextualism”
