DIVORCIADAS GAÚCHAS DOS SÉCULOS XVIII E XIX

RESUMO: Este artigo discute o processo de secularização presente nas rupturas dos relacionamentos matrimonial no Rio Grande do Sul, entre 1766 e 1890. O texto expõe alguns processos de divórcio impetrados por mulheres vivendo no interior do estado. Esses atos revelam questões sobre formação, constituição e desenvolvimento da sociedade, que apresentam maior visibilidade nas pequenas localidades. Mostram mais significativamente as estruturas da sociedade rural tradicional, onde se constrói o sistema de alianças patrimoniais, e a ultrapassagem deste sistema para o casamento como local de construção do regime da sexualidade, típico das sociedades atuais.

ABSTRACT: This article discusses the process of secularization of marital relationships in the Rio Grande do Sul, during the period comprised between 1766 and 1890. A special focus is placed on the analyses/examination of some process of divorce proposed by women from the countryside of Rio Grande do Sul. It enables to understand some questions related to the formation, constitution and development of the “gaúcha’s” society, especially when it examines small localities-structured as traditional rural society. Finally, it shows the evolution of the marital relationships in the Rio Grande do Sul, based on an first moment in the patrimonial alliances to the system of unions established through the prism of sexuality, also present in the nowadays society.
