OS RAPTOS CONSENTIDOS E O COTIDIANO DAS CIDADES
- O PAPEL DAS FESTAS – NA PARAÍBA DO PERÍODO IMPERIAL

RESUMO: Neste artigo, trabalho com o que chamei de “raptos consentidos” na Paraíba, entre as décadas de 80
e 90 do Séc. XIX e os anos de 1910. A pesquisa apontou para um emaranhado discursivo que deu visibilidade às práticas amorosas e às relações de poder, presentes nas práticas dos “raptos consentidos”. Procuramos apreender,
mesmo que parcialmente, o cotidiano dos envolvidos citados pelos processos criminais por raptos bem como as
redes de relacionamento entre homens e mulheres. Assim, fomos percebendo, através de todo o caminho que
antecedia os raptos, como esses casais se encontravam, quais táticas utilizavam e que meios e artifícios usavam
para convencer um ao outro. Analisando o rapto como lugar de tensões que transcendem o simples fato de
resistência a uma ordem patriarcal, mas que também institui uma alternativa para as práticas amorosas.

ABSTRACT: In this article, work which I called the “kidnapping granted” in Paraíba, among the 80 and 90
decades of XIX Century and in the year of 1910. The research pointed to a tangled discursive giving visibility to
the loving practice and relations of power, present in the practices of “kidnapping granted.” We understand, even
if partially, the daily lives of those involved cited for criminal proceedings by kidnappings as well as the
networks of relationships between men and women. Thus, we see through all the way that preceded the
abductions, as these couples met, which tactics were used and the tricks used to convince each other. Analyzing
the abduction as a place of tension that transcend the mere fact of resistance to a patriarchal order, but that also
establishes an alternative to the loving practices.
