A INVENÇÃO DO BRASIL - O NASCIMENTO DA PAISAGEM BRASILEIRA

RESUMO: Este artigo visa analisar a pintura paisagística holandesa (de autoria de artistas como Frans Post, Gillis Peters, Zacharias Wagener, Georg Macgraf e Albert Eckhout, entre outros) sobre o Brasil, no momento da invasão, conquista e estabelecimento da dominação do nordeste brasileiro no século XVII, com o intuito de apreender construções imaginárias de sentido e, por intermédio dessas, observar como, pela paisagem, se fez a “invenção do Brasil” pelo olhar do outro.

ABSTRACT: This article aims first to analyse the Dutch landscaping painting (painted by artists as Frans Post, Gillis Peters, Zacharias Wagener, Georg Macgraf and Albert Eckhout…) about Brazil, in the invasion moment, conquest and establishment of the Brazilian Northeast domination in the Seventeenth Century, with the purpose to apprehend sense imaginaries constructions and also through landscape to observe how “Brazil invention” was made by other point of view.
