EDUCAÇÃO E DOMINAÇÃO SOCIAL: O ENSINO DE
HISTÓRIA NO REGIME MILITAR BRASILEIRO

RESUMO: O estudo realizou uma análise das influências e imposições do regime militar brasileiro sobre o ensino de História. Usamos a história oral como metodologia para coleta dos dados, entrevistando três professores de História que atuaram em Santa Maria/RS, durante os anos de 1970 e 1980. Os dados foram analisados a partir da perspectiva teórica oferecida por Bourdieu e Passeron sobre poder e violência simbólica. Os resultados mostram que o Estado utilizou o ensino de História como mecanismo para a imposição e dominação social a partir da defesa e exaltação de idéias condizentes com o contexto político de poder autoritário.

ABSTRACT: This study carried through an analysis of the influences and impositions of the Brazilian military regimen on the teaching of History. We started from Oral History as methodology for collection of the data; we interviewed three teacher of History who had acted in Santa Maria/RS (Brazil), between 1970 and 1980. The data had been analyzed from the theoretical perspective offered by Bourdieu and Passeron about power and symbolic violence. The results show that the State used the teaching History as mechanism for the imposition and social domination from the defense and dither of ideas related to the context politician and authoritarian power.
