O TEATRO E A DEMOCRACIA NA GRÉCIA DO SÉCULO

ARISTOCRAICA NO PERÍODO CLÁSSICO

RESUMO: O processo de transição do génos arcaico para a pólis clássica provocou várias mudanças no cenário da sociedade grega. As transformações na forma de viver e de administrar a comunidade fez com que se abandonassem antigos preceitos religiosos que norteavam a vida do homem e se tomassem outros parâmetros para sua organização social. Foi nesse contexto que a tragédia grega surgiu, e devido a sua força educativa foi adotada pelos novos legisladores da cidade-Estado como um instrumento para ajudar a formar o cidadão que deveria viver e administrar a pólis. Dentre os poetas trágicos desse momento histórico, Sófocles se destacou por sua proposta pedagógica de formação do modelo de homem/cidadão apoiado no conceito de justa medida, à serviço da aristocracia.

ABSTRACT: The transitional process of the archaic genos to the classical polis caused several changes in the Greek society scene. The transformation in habits of living and managing the community made them renounce old religious precept that guided the man life to consider other parameters to the social organization. It was in that context the Greek tragedy appeared and due to its educational power it was adopted by new legislators of the City-state as an instrument to help developing the citizen who should live and manage the polis. Among the tragical poets of that historical moment, Sophocles was pointed by his pedagogical purpose about formation of the man/citizen model based on the concept on the perfect measure on aristocracy duty.
