ECONOMIA FEUDAL NO BRASIL – PARA DISCUTIR

RESUMO: Pretende-se analisar como Nelson Werneck Sodré precisou a categoria feudal em suas obras
de história da formação histórica brasileira, É importante frisar que o conceito “feudal” tem estatuto de
centralidade na obra de Sodré. Quanto a isso, tentar-se-á localizar e demonstrar se, realmente, a questão
feudal é uma categoria central para o autor, e perceber se feudal está ligado a uma sociedade de classes
que se forma em torno de seu modo de produção ou se trata-se de uma metáfora política para justificar os
obstáculos ao desenvolvimento da burguesia nacional e da sujeição desta ao imperialismo.

ABSTRACT: Our purpose is to analyze the feudal category on Nelson Werneck Sodré´s making of
Brazilian history. It is important to underline the feudal term as a core concept on Sodré’s works. So, our
effort is to focus and demonstrate how central the feudal matter outcomes as a frame category for that
author, and to realize if the feudal term is bound to a class society, whose meaning is a making derived
from a mode of production, or if it is bound to a political metaphor in order to justify the obstacles to the
development of the Brazilian bourgeoisie, and its subjection to the Imperialism as well.
