Os usos da mitologia nórdica no livro “História Ilustrada da Dinamarca para o povo” (1854)

Resumo

Nossa pesquisa tem como objetivo a reflexão sobre a inclusão de temas da Mitologia Nórdica e da Escandinávia da Era Viking no livro de popularização Illustreret Danmarkshistorie for folket (História ilustrada da Dinamarca para o povo, 1854), do dinamarquês Adam Fabricius.  Utilizamos como principal elemento teórico as considerações do historiador Niels Kayser Nielsen sobre os usos do passado nórdico e como metodologia a cultura visual na perspectiva de John Harvey. Nossa conclusão é que essa recepção dos mitos nórdicos esteve atrelada a uma forma específica de uso da história nórdica, a saber, a utilização de simbolos femininos pelo nacionalismo dinamarquês.
